Roccagiovine is a lovely medieval village lying on top of a hill, not far from Rome. The village is dipped in the woods of the natural park of Monti Lucretili, which are often mentioned by the poet Orazio Flacco, whose villa (a gift by Mecenate in 33 b.c.), is within walking distance.

The Bed & breakfast is situated in the heart of the village, close to Castello Orsini and just above the little square, in a pebbled narrow street wich leads to the church. The Palazzetto as well once belonged to the Orsini, while today it is owned by two young sisters, who fell in love with the place and decided to restore the house, turning it into a Bed&breakfast.

All rooms are provided with bathroom and furnished with old furniture and linen. From the windows you can enjoy the relaxing view over the natural park. Breakfast is substantial and abundant, sometimes with homemade cakes. Your hosts will be happy to show you interesting and suggestive itineraries which will contribute making your holiday unforgettable.

Worth seeing: in the upper part of the village lies the powerful size of Castello Orsini, which dates back to the 14th century. Getting out of the castle you'll find yourselves in front of the main church of the village: the church of San Nicola di Bari. Going down to the lowest part of the village you can admire the typical narrow streets with little wood and stone houses on both sides. In the heart of the village a lovely fountain stands out, which is dedicated to the goddess Vacuna. In a corner of the square you can take a look at the little Chiesetta dei Flagellanti, where every year a characteristic crib is prepared.

Rome means first of all history, as the Etruskan tombs, the republican forums, the imperial temples, the christian basilicas, the medieval belfries, the Renaissance buildings and the baroque churches can testify. In this huge city, a high concentration of history, legend and monuments coexists with a a big concentration of busy people, who must extricate in the chaos of everyday traffic. It' s hard to say what will hit you most of the Eternal City.
